You have six Unknown. Next thing you know, there's only one of those six. What could possibly be the Organization's goal if the Superior willingly allows Axel to make sure everyone's finished off. Marluxia and Larxene, I can see why. Vexen, less so. What the /hell/ did Zexion ever do to make Axel think he could take him out using Repliku (what I'm calling Riku Replica; it's so much shorter and everyone can understand it it) at his instrument of punishment.
And this is all okay?! Nevermind that Zexion didn't do much of anything to earn his death, it's just...I don't get why the Superior would allow the execution of his other subordinates (Lexaeus died by Riku's hands, I think, so he doesn't count) when they weren't plotting behind his back. You can't make me believe that the Superior had no clue what's going on, and Axel could move so freely to kill everyone off or manipulate it so either Riku, Repliku, or Sora did the dirty work for him (Vexen included, despite the fatal blow being dealt by Axel).
Jesus christ on a popcicle stick, aren't they supposed to be working for a /cause/?! When did this get lost in translation among them?? >.< And so, who're the other Unknown in KH2, if the five here are dead? Riku's one, Axel's one, that leaves three more.
...What I need to see is Deep Dive. *huff* I can barely keep these people apart. Blind Folded Unknown (well, shit, is he still Riku?), Dual Keyblade Holder (BHK?), Eye Glowing Unknown, Enigmatic Man, etc, etc <.< Shit. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care! ... Okay, maybe I'd care if the US branch of Square put in KH2 all the shit we never got from Final Cut. But that would be redundant, I know, because here you are, playing the game that will most likely answer the questions that they all leave you with, so there'd be no point to adding them. And "everyone's" already seen the FMVs and whatnot. Shit.
"Bloodhound," Axel hissed, as if it amused him to say it like he owned it. Zexion wasn't so amused and stalked away from the leering redhead. But Axel was not so easily put off by Zexion's lack of reaction and padded after him intently. "I see seven Unknown in this dungeon, and you have no power but a sixth sense disguised as one of your five. No element, no weapon. You're just like a lapdog with a strong sense of Smell, a pet. Zexy."
Axel was no older than him. In respects, he was some years younger, despite latent age. And it annoyed Zexion that Axel had no respect for his elders twice over; just because they were frozen at roughly the same age did not make Axel his equal. A neophyte, the second generation. Disgraceful.
"Zex~y," he crooned, much too near for Zexion's comfort. "'Zexy' rhymes with 'sexy', did you know that? I supposed both apply: you aren't too hard on the eyes, and every good pet needs a nickname. Then again, I bet you're already owned." The footsteps fell faster than anticipated, and suddenly, Axel's hands were biting into his shoulders, whispering in his ear, "Is Lexaeus gentle when he fucks you?"
Zexion was not an emotional person. He did not embrace his feelings, he warded them off. But...later he would surmise Axel only caught him off-guard, yet in this moment, Axel of all people make assumptions about him and Lexaeus... It make him angry.
The metallic-blue haired boy knew how to handle blatant disrepect, he'd show Axel what sort of terrible power he commanded...
* * *
With a pained hiss, Zexion lowered his forearm into the basin, the burn reacting harshly to the cold water and-- "Dammit."
Did the Superior know how powerful Axel really was? That his potential was awesome? His fire...it was an inferno of hell. Far more powerful than Axel ever displayed, a hidden power that Axel hadn't even known existed until now. But because Zexion temper finally snapped, he knew. He tasted those flames, and no doubt, Axel would want to taste it again.
He was such an idiot.
With the barrier of reality contorting, he Smelled Lexaeus' position shift from the outer levels-- Zexion shut his eyes as the Earthmover ghosted behind him. "You called."
"Did I?" Placid, biting, flat, spiteful, rare and sortly sarcasm. "Whatever you heard wasn't me."
Lexaeus was moving toward him; the mental struggle with Axel left him sluggish and the broader Unknown was able to grasp onto Zexion's soaking arm. "Don't--"
"Axel."
What did one say to that without lying or confirming? Zexion kept his customary silence, holding his tongue to the roof of his mouth.
Lexaeus' expression was scrutinizing. "What happened."
Zexion stared up at him, unwavered and coolly. If he didn't wish to talk, Lexaeus knew he wouldn't--
Lexaeus twisted his arm around this way and that, and suddenly placed his left hand over the burn. Zexion hissed sharply, tensing, but couldn't stop the inevitable of Lexaeus finding out what he wanted to know, which only served to deepen the mystery. "This is hand-shaped. What did he do?"
Zexion growled softly and tugged his forearm back; Axel's words ran loops in his mind. "I did what I did to Vexen back then. It was different."
"How?"
The boy had had it. "Leave me."
Moments passed before Lexaeus carried out his wish, long enough for the roots of regret to set into Zexion's chest. But he would not sway....He was stronger than emotion.
What actually happened in between is for another time. ^.~
