He told her to stay there, on the bench, and wait for him to come back. He said it wouldn't take long, said how many fighters would waste their time coming this far out anyway?
But it was taking a long time, and she drifted through the crowd, being ever careful as she walked softly over the stone floor; one careless push from a naive person could send her to her deathbed, under the right circumstances.
There was so much noise, so much yelling between people. Bettors, competitors and spokesmen, spectators eager for the battles to begin, barterors selling last-minute seats for more than they were worth. It hurt her head, listening to it garble into a solid roar of swarming insects.
However, the grandeur of the stadium's spacing put her in awe, turning around in one spot to take it all in, like a star-struck romantic. Even the noise couldn't drown the splendor of the architecture, the banners hanging from the ceiling and walls, the white streamers going everywhich way.
She was so preoccupied, with her eyes above, she never saw the shorter girl come colliding into her side, suddenly changing her view from the chandalier to the many feet passing. And it hurt. The side that impacted the stone hurt, and she did cry out when she hit the floor. "Please, Hotaru, don't move," said the phantom echo, "or you might get hurt, and they can't take care of you like I can.
Why didn't she listen?
"Hey are you okay?"
"Are you hurt?"
"Oh my god, I'm sorry!"
"Why can't you watch where you're going?? Back off folks, I've got her."
Hotaru cracks her eyes open, with many-but-withdrawing expressions of hesitant worry in her squint. But two didn't leave, a blond man and candy-pink haired girl. The girl was jabbering apologies by the second, and the blond was scowling down at Hotaru, though it might've been his companion's doing; she -was- rather noisy.
"Oi, kid. Let's get you back on your feet."
It didn't take much to haul her up; Yuusuke commented on her weight loss every time he was concerned, which was frequent, but seeing the utter surprise on the man's face at he picked her up was new. No one really went out of their way to touch her, let alone hold her.
...Meh, not working. I can't decide how I want it to go. Rini alone, Rini and Seifer, Seifer alone, Zell alone, or any combination of Rini/Zell/Seifer.
Wow, that looks funky. o.o *get an image of sunset* I mentally label with colors, I suppose.
