When you're going somewhere new and you're not sure how much walking is required of you do not wear 4.5 inch heels. Even if they are fuschia suede clogs with sequins and a blonde wood stacked heel. The pain and suffering is only slightly mitigated by strangers at an art show walking up and complimenting your shoes.
In other news, The Museum of Visionary Art in Baltimore looks to be a lot of fun. We didn't see much of it because we were there for a fancypants fine craft show opening. I finally met
anonymously4's friend Carol, aka Snufflupagus. She does exist! The Inner Harbor looks like fun as well, and may have been if it weren't for the bitter cold and the grinding foot pain.
Tragicomedy gold of the evening: seeing the face of an antiques expert when he realized that a decoupaged & modded-up chair in one booth was a priceless Duncan Fife. I imagine that's the equivalent of me seeing a first edition Frank O'Hara used as wallpaper. Had the priceless chair been decoupaged with a first edition Frank O'Hara we probably would have set the place on fire.
