I lied in the post below this one.

Okay, I didn't lie. But I had a really great Halloween. anonymously4 ditched work and we got up to impromptu zany highjinks in New Hope, PA. We saw a man walking down the street with an honest-to-goodness, actual, no-fooling monkey. A monkey. A motherfucking monkey. It may have been the highlight of 2007.

I also got my chakras cleared by a sweet guy from Nepal who showed me how my singing bowl is supposed to work. Turns out it's not a party game; it actually has a purpose. We saw lots of dogs in Halloween costumes and one Halloween costume of a dog.

I bought some herbs at Gypsy Heaven (the "good vibe" pagan shop) from a girl
dressed like a Hogwarts student. Got attitude at Mystical Times (the "bad vibe" pagan shop) as usual. Silly witch! Proper pagans don't wear Eddie Bauer!

Kristina got her shoppy on; I mostly did window shopping. Or, as Rich calls it, picking things up and saying "this is cute" and "I don't like this".

Later that night were even more zany highjinks at Homegrown. I even wore a costume of sorts; flipped my hair and went retro complete with grandma's 3-strand pearls. Kris was a pirate/gypsy. Her costume was a costume. She went as a person wearing a costume. Ed the bartender was devastatingly cute in a Navy dress shirt. And of course there were sexy nurses, sexy cops, sexy pirates, sexy kittens, sexy plumbers, sexy telemarketers, sexy claims adjusters, sexy parking lot attendants...

The all time funniest moment was a couple of sirostitutes, all blonde & fake tan wearing tiny light blue shirts and flouncy white skirts. They were walking by the porch and this table of people who were watching the show asked them what they were. One turned around & said "Venus & Serena."

This was especially funny because the table full of people was African-American. They all had cartoon WTF's over their heads until one of them said, "Well, you could maybe get away with Steffi Graf, but don't you think you should at least carry a racket?"

Pix later if I'm not too lazy.

a monkey, halloween, zany highjinks
