dane cook, a CHRISTIAN ROLE MODEL?
well i in a way think so! after finding a video of a wide audience performance he did i was actually impressed about him revealing his faith in a unique way while also making a point and adding humor and still remaining to be the Dane Cook we all know and love.
my boyfriend for the past 3 days has been going on and on about how he put soome Dane Cook videos on his "myspace" so i constantly debated on how the one video he really wanted me to watch that he claimed was really rare, or was a not so popular performance. it was not there just a tiny link. so one day as we argued on the phone about it i clicked to see if anything would happen and it did in fact bring me to the video... i felt stupid... of course
but i finally watched the video today, just now actually. and the joke starts when dane sees a person sneeze. it goes on to a debate on religion, and trees and he makes a really good point and christian message i think in way. When i told this to nicole she said, "your crazy". well hey why cant he be a christian role model?i mean he is in fact christian and he made a statement i think is awesome. Sure he may say the f word in the vid and his jokes as well and tell his "coming of age tale" over and over. But no one is perfect...... not even the people we do proclaim to look up to as Christian role models. i have to be one everyday and ive been living the first few weeks of school as an angry disturbed senior emo kid who craves cigarettes and yet still goes to church n youth group even though she has lost grip of her faith.
I was down and Jonathan told me something he heard in the BATMAN BEGINS movie that really made me think..
"why do we fall master bruce?"
"alfred, its so we can teach ourselves how to pick ourselves up"
