...it seems rather odd to question the relevance of the question after it has already been asked. If there is a direction you wish to go, it is not wise to take one step forward then two steps back.

I wasn't entirely planning on going anywhere. It was an...idle curiosity, nothing more.

You still probably wouldn't get very far. However, some find it more comforting to walk a little less blindly than others, even with no direction in mind.
