[ is passable with her language, if not a bit formal. ]

I believe it does matter. After all, to go through the trouble of retrieving their subjects from different times, different worlds-- there must have been something that they saw in the ones that were chosen.

Yes...something. It only makes sense, doesn't it? Yet those who have been here longest will claim there is no pattern.

Of course. To randomly select raw materials for something on such a large scale...it seems a bit foolish, to me. However, everyone's abilities-- they have removed those, placing everyone on the same level. That is something I cannot understand.

[hhhnnnn one of her least favorite subjects] Perhaps...that's the point. Making everyone the same.

What use would something like that serve?

I don't pretend to know the motives of our captors. Maybe for their purposes they desire everyone to be equal. More likely they could be studying how we adapt.

No, it seems that no one here truly is aware of this. If what you believe is the truth of the matter, then it appears that their selection was much less random than previously thought.

And if that is the case...what is it they saw in you?

Hmm, I wonder? [Not giving it up that easily.] Though if what they seek is the same for everyone, I pray for their experiment. [Ha. Ha. That's humor, you see.]

[ oh, that's fine. he's sure that given time, he'll find out. ]

Perhaps we will find that out if their plans reveal themselves to us.

As a fellow researcher, I'm interested in learning that, myself.

They have kept to themselves fairly well until now. It would be interesting to see that change.

One can hope. I am aware that curiosity on its own does very little; however, has patience allowed you to gain any more knowledge?

Perhaps. There were some...intriguing discoveries made by a group not too long ago.

And what would those be?

[ actually sounds interested for the first time in the conversation. ]

There was some type of expedition to one of the neighboring cities recently. Various pieces of information were gathered that confirmed that our captors have handpicked their targets, though there still seems to be no reason or rhyme to their choices.

And supposedly...they found a device that may be related to the one that brought us here. [Pause.] Though, it seems everyone was more concerned with the unsettling idea of being watched from across worlds.

[ quietly, half to himself: ]

Yes, it would be expected for raw materials, even in such a situation, to worry about such things first.

[ raises his voice back to a normal volume. ]

Is there anyone who kept a record of what was found at this time?

Hm. I would assume several of those who went along kept records, but dreamermoa who maintains the public inventory would likely be most helpful in that regard, if one were truly interested.
