For those of you who knew me in high school, you might remember that occasionally, I'd be all freaking out and getting anxious and depressed... and then get less sleep one night, and be fine the next day. I'd be getting about 7 or 8 hours of sleep for several nights, then I'd only get 4 one night.. and I'd be fine!

There is research to support this! Studies have shown sleep deprivation improving depression. It relapses as soon as you get a full night's sleep, but even partial sleep deprivation helped.

I mean, I know that's not solid evidence that I was depressed and sleep deprivation helped it. But I know that I would have episodes of excessive anxiety, depressive thoughts, and generally a shitty mood. I know that sometimes they would correlate with me getting more sleep. And then if I slept less one night, I would have an immediate positive impact on my mood.

I mean, that's all I'm sayin'.

sleep, health
