Today was a long day. I had to wake up at 8 ( really early for me) coz of the stupid strike. The metro and buses work only early in the mornin and late at night. so yeh.. Anyhow, i got to school. My first class was international state behavior. I love that class, the prof is amazing. His name is TV Paul... don't ask.. Then after that I went shopping with my friends, bought a sweater, couldnt resist the temptation :P I skipped my math class...went to study with Jess instead. We found a "quiet study room". It's awesome. full of couches , nice view.. etc. The only problem is that instead of studying you end up sleepin. haha. Then i went to eat iftar at some junk food place like usual, meh. Frankly this ramadan .. bearly felt like it was ramadan, Oh well. Anyhow, then after eating i went to play squash with Christal .. it was fun. I guess we're gettin better hehe then went for a coffee.. then went back to the librairy and studied from 7 till 11. I'm impressed. hahahaha. Then at 11, the metro started again so i went back home. HOme sweet home.
Ugh Tomorrow I have class at 1!!! but i have to wake up at 8 :( I really hope this strike is going to stop before the weekend. coz no transportation AT ALL during the w-e. I'll prolly stay home the whole time and watch DVds. meh.
Oohhh. On Monday, i went to this conference. It was great. The general Romeo Dallaire made a speech and all. He is great. We all :`( . He was talking about when he was in Rwanda.. and what happened during the civil war. They could have prevented things to happen, people to die, but most of the armies that were there left after a while and were like " let those africans die".
He said : " IMagine being a colonel, with your troup. You see kids in front of you, aged from 9 to 15. Those kids have guns with them, modern weapons. They're shooting at you and your guys, but not coz they want to, it's coz they have no choice. The guns were put in their hands. He was like : what do you do? Tell your men to shoot? at those kids? Or just watch them shoot you and die?
Everyone was so quiet. Imagine... must be such a hard decision.
HE also said that the lil boys were the ones with the guns. The lil girls had to walk in front of the boys, to check if there was any landmines... and basically blow if there was one..so the boys could pass.. its so... ugh
ANyhow.. That guy was amazin. He touched us all. The adults, the students, the profs.. everyone. The things he said were so true. Makes you wanna change the world.
If you guys dont know him just look him up on the net. He wrote a book about
it : "shake hands with the devil". I think im going to buy it.
I better go sleep. Its 1:30 am.. I have been insomniac lately. wonder why.
Night everyone.
