Maintaince

Aug 04, 2009 02:31

I helped sugarcoatedlie out by doing some maintaince on her hair before her birthday! I got an awesome beehive hat in exchange, and COOOOOOKIES yum yum yum nom nom nom. If anyone in interested in these skills, I am available for barter for goodies and the like; or money, if you are not crafty lol
We started about 3:30 pm and finished about 2:30 am, with minimal breaks. My roomies went to go see Harry Potter about 10 pm and we were still at it when they came back! They were surprised my hands didn't fall off. They were pretty sore the next day though!

We forgot a proper "before" photo so here's something like that. It actually shows the loopyness extremely well. use this Pic and the last one for the best overall effect :)

I use a combination of palm rolling and crocheting to fix the flyaways, escapee hairs, and also rounded the tips and pulled in loopies. I started at the nape, and went around the sides to the crown.

She lost a TON of length! This is the previous 4 dreads with a few untouched dread for comparision.

Around the head I go!

Sectioning looks good

This was a typical dread, somewhat loopy with big long whispy ends

All done! She'd look happier... if it wasn't 2:30 am and she had about an hour and 1/2 drive back to Michigan!
OOO and TERMINATOR KITTY WILL EAT YOUR DREADS

And one of me!

This is me at my friend's 30th Birthday Party, I am the one who looks painfully sober next to the very drunk Carla.
