(no subject)
This weekend has been pretty un-relaxing as a whole lol. I'll def be enjoying my day off tomorrow. Yesterday I worked the matinee of 39steps. Sunday matinee' are my favorite, always have been. People are nice and calm, no late comers and there's a fair amount of tipping :-p. After I met up with Nik at those dumb lawn chairs in Times Square. I hate them, but I do enjoy being able to walk in the street and not the crowded sidewalks to get to work and theaters. Nik and I talked about a "black" show that he'd just been called back for that is trying to have a bway revival next season (oooh). We also did interviews for an Australian radio station about the death of DJ AM. I wish that I could hear it, because it was pretty hilarious. Nik and I are hardly concerned with the death of DJ AM. And the interviewer was asking us questions like "What's your favorite drug"? To which I replied "I'm saved. I get high on Jesus". While Nik starts singing Hanish from Hair into the microphone..Entertaining to me at least.
Nik Had the good fortune of finding a Mamma Mia ticket that someone had dropped in front of The Little Mermaid. He went to the MMia box office and pretended to be a confused tourist wondering if his TKTS ticket was legit. And it was!!! 40% off Mamma Mia ticket that Nik got for free lol. So he saw that and I went home to nurse my voice. I bumped into Javier on the way home and we discussed how we've both been so sick this month (worse for him being Usnavi and all) lol. I miss seeing people like him on a daily basis.
It's going to be amazing to see Fela joining In The Heights on broadway.
It's hard to think about how shitty and shady 37arts was when I think about the great things that came out of it!!!
I do not miss that job, but I do miss being close to those shows.
