O holy night, the stars are brightly shining...
Wheee! Just got back from Meg's house where I spent Christmas evening with her family. The morning and afternoon weren't anything too spectacular...usual exchange of gifts, everyone was happy. I got two dress shirt/tie box set things, a movie package containing a tub of popcorn, two Cokes, two Wonka Bars, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on DVD, and a $20 gift card to Best Buy. I also got a shirt from my mom's friend that says "Tu Eres Un Pendejo" and then "(You are my friend)" For anyone that doesn't know (including me at the time), the phrase in Spanish translates to "You're an asshole." I pray that my mom's friend really didn't know what the hell it meant and just saw "friend" and gave it to me. But considering "pendejo" means pretty much the same thing in Tagalog (Filipino-speak) and Spanish...
Anyways. After gift opening, I went to mass, came back and played some TV Poker and Blackjack (150 hands) with dad on the new TV Poker set thing I got him for Christmas. I think I can safely say I won't be heading to Vegas (or even Oklahoma) anytime soon. After that, the family watched the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory DVD over lunch. Dad liked it - said it was better than he anticipated. Then it was off to Meg's!
When I got there, her grandma and grandpa were there, and they were just about to open some presents. It was really home-y to watch! I got to have some coffee from the Aroma 8-Cup Coffee Maker I got the Dukes, and it was great! They love it! Then I gave Meg her present from me, which was an Amethyst ring from James Avery - and lucky for me, I got the exact right size!! *throws mini-celebration*
Meg's gift to me was a robot dog (i-Cybie) that I was having a lot of fun with at Franklin Covey. Heh, it's going to give me hours of entertainment. I don't have to clean up after it or feed it, and when it starts to get loud, I can turn it off. And now I can have a dog in the apartment. Hehe - it's name is Dane, after famed comedian Dane Cook.
Megan's family also got me a present - OMG a Deep Fryer. Yessss...frying foods the right way from now on!!! Hey Ray - how about some homestyle fried chicken? w3rd. Incredibly happy with those presents!
Joyce came over a little later and we chilled with Megan's sisters and their presents. Then when Joyce left, Meg and I got to have some quality Christmas time together! *swoon* I'm so head over heels. She's such a brighter spot in a currently very bright life.
And now folks, I'm off to bed. I work for two hours tomorrow, just as a fill-in shift. Good night all!
