I ran out
Yesterday I actually ran out of work to do. I'd finished all the screening, updated all the docs, reminded all the hiring managers of what I was waiting for from them and then... hit a dead end.
For about an hour my colleague and I sat and chatted with each other about this and that. I encouraged her to go home since we were both wasting time together. I did it in the guise of not having both of us there when only one of us is billing. However, what I really wanted to do was read email and LJ. I'm a bad girl.
="volunteering stuff">Last night I went to my second meeting of the Toronto Women's Bathhouse Committee. That was a 3-hour meeting. We had to move to a second room to be able to finish it. We're working on our next strip night, which will definitely be on Feb 9th. Come on out!!
We're also working on the Women and Trans of Colour bathhouse. I just learned that it's for women and trans people of colour and their women and trans partners (whether of colour or not). Veddy cool. The date is yet to be settled, but watch for enticing ads that are meant to encourage participation :)
Because of that meeting I did a truncated DSSG munch. I got to talk to our latest TOKink volunteer, who is going to help with marketing/promotions, sponsorship and vendors. He sounds really, really on the ball. We're meeting again on Monday to go over a short-term plan for the convention and a long-term plan for future years.
I've been really, really enjoying the warmer January weather. I know we're going to pay for that in February/March. Sigh.
