Getting better

Mar 18, 2004 09:55

After a couple of days of major sensitivity I seem to have calmed as long as I take it easy. No running or being exposed to nasty fumes for me for a while. Pie caught my cold as did Shoshin (but we all got it from that naughty tall blonde in the first place who got it from who knows??). Anyway, we're all on the mend.

BIG NEWS: I got the apartment!
I can even get in early to look at how I want to decorate before the official April 1 move-in date. I'm getting so excited!

Now I've got to do all the moving things - change of address to the post office (for two addresses), notifying all my cards, banks, bell, etc., arranging my move all my stuff from the various places somehow (though at least I'm not restricted to moving just on April 1, decorating, finding the few things I still don't have yet (microwave, toaster, kettle, stuff like that), setting up phone and internet service, all that shite.

Just for fun I sent an email to the people who do "Homes to Go" on HGTV to see if they wanna decorate me :) Tonight I'm checking out room layouts at PIEkea for ideas.

Yesterday for the first time I had clients!! I had 3 clients for the day. I did assessments with each of them and determined their need, referred them to the appropriate intervention and did the paperwork to record what was discussed and decided. In one case I had a woman who was so grateful and excited that there was a skills development program. She cried from happiness to know there was help to get her out of the cycle of poverty. So amazing.

Things are ramping up here at work. My first clients, reviewing applications and critiquing them, helping complete applications from one person who's gone on an extended vacation (a month and a bit). So far this morning the phones are completely down for unknown reasons.

Having a couple of generally quiet nights is a good thing for recovering from colds. We have a busy weekend ahead. Friday night I'm having dinner with my mom. Saturday is DAL (yum!). Sunday is Eostre, the spring equinox. That will be nice, especially since a friend has decided to dip her toes into the waters of our coven for a while to see how it feels. Having her join us even if it's only temporary will be lovely.

Off to actually do some work!

volunteering, moving, wicca, play, sick
