Finished yesterday morning. It’s based on a photo I took on my balcony, of the little bird on the seed bowl I put out. I printed the shot and drew the pink magnolia branch in to replace the rim of the bowl. Creative use of photography, rather than verbatim copying, is one of the things I help my students do. This is 6x12”, on a cradled wood panel. Second photo shows the depth of the edges, which I covered in blue painter’s tape to keep them clean until the paint dries. It’s oil paint, and will take a few days to dry.
Update: Sold! :-D
