Injury is healing a lot faster than I had expected. New skin is growing into the open area even as other areas are still starting to slough away -- but we saw that coming.
When I cleaned the leg today, I found that the top layer of the granulation would slough off under the rag, probably because yesterday's treatment worked. The girl who had that stuff was nowhere to be found, though, and so I used Wonder Dust on the wound today, which should help accomplish the same thing.
Large horse in small stall = not good, and so, given the remarkable progress she'd made, I put her out with the herd where she wanted to be. My gut told me it was that or have an episode of stress-induced colic, because Twilight was eating okay while indoors, but would not drink. I put her in the outdoor arena, took the bucket from the stall and put it out there with her, and when I came back she had drained it dry.
Meanwhile, I've been fighting a mild illness myself and I am now feeling the evidence that I maybe should not have been cleaning a stall and everything, in the cold weather today.
