Bound outward

Observation from the past few days:

Sometimes I leave my music off and the TV on because music brings emotions to the surface, and that can be unsettling. And yet it does things for me, reminds me that this is life and this is me; drives me to get creative, to move.

This was yesterday, looking at an overpass just south of the big interstate. The nature preserve is a quilt-patch of land bounded by highways on two sides, a rail yard on the third, a river on the fourth.

I'm heading out again in a minute to do more of this, probably at a different spot today.

Those of you who follow this journal for fannish reasons, know that the burst of creativity includes goodies for you, too. This morning I finished a second part to The Borders of Old Cities. It's sitting for the weekend while we are all away, and I'll post it Monday since we don't have a new House episode this week.
