House fic index

If you're looking for something of mine, it's probably here.

Feel free to link on Tumblr, but please do NOT link, "Like," or "Share This" on Facebook. People on Tumblr don't know me IRL and there's a lot less professional risk there. Most of you will already understand why I ask this, but for those who'd like to know, the explanation is here.

I write gen, almost always focused on House and Wilson. Comments are bliss, no matter how old the story. Often, I play in the sandbox with other fan writers, so I have a specific list of my collaborative stories at the bottom of the page.

2011

Consolation Prize, in which Foreman discovers that what happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but Atlantic City makes no such guarantees.

Cold  Wilson's just coming out of general anesthesia after giving half his liver away, and House wants to know what else he might give away now, drugged and disoriented.

Toast (the Borders of Old Cities, Part Two)

And the Border of Old Cities Get Redrawn

Fool's Paradise

Two Weeks and Change is a progression of scenes after House's return in S8. All from Wilson's conflicted POV. About 1,400 words, about as gen as these guys get in canon. As with most of my things, this ends hopefully; no warnings.

The Last Vacation Day -- diverges after the crash at the end of S7. Now that House has returned, he'll eventually have to unpack those bags. Hurt/comfort, about 1300 words, no warnings.

Coming Around is from the POV of Tucker, whose life Wilson chose to save and who is just as great a guy here as he is in canon. Just over 1,000 words; one-shot.

Human Habitation  Short piece; House and Wilson at the quiet end of a very, very bad day. Based on the promo for 7.16.

Catch  is a really DARK one-shot AU. House goes looking to get hurt, but not like this. Not like this at all. Warning for sexual assault; disclaimer that the assailant isn't anyone we know from canon. I wrote this after I realized that in fandom these days, with Tritter and Vogler long gone, basically any story in which House gets raped has Wilson as the rapist. I asked myself how else it could happen; this was the result.

2010

Front -- A more or less ordinary day, shortly after The Social Contract and the first visit to Daniel Wilson.  Wilson and House, faking their way into getting what they both need.

Bait and Switch -- Collaborative Story with perspi and hannahrorlove, in which nobody -- not House, not Wilson, and certainly not our mystery woman -- gets what they expect. ~4,900 words, no pairing, warning for violence and illness. We wrote this as a gift-fic for nightdog_barks .

2009:

Roll the Bones -- collaborative story with nightdog_barks and pwcorgigirl . Wilson and House, on the road; this is a story in which everyone makes their own gambles. No pairings or warnings, approx. 12,800 words.

Cruising Altitude -- in which Remy Hadley takes flight, and considers some things from several thousand feet up. Hadley, Wilson; gen. ~ 560 words.

Connecting the Dots -- Collaborative story with nightdog_barks . As always, House has an unusual approach to recovery. Especially when the one recovering is Wilson.

Strategies in Real Estate -- in which House proves that it's always toughest to manipulate Wilson into helping himself. Based on/missing scenes for 6.06, Brave Hearts.

A Pound of Cure -- based on 6.04, The Tyrant, with some missing scenes. 784 words.

Dreams of the Gimp-legged Nuthatch -- At Mayfield, House's mind latches onto an unexpected symbol.

Forty Yards -- very short companion piece to A Thing With Feathers.

A Thing with Feathers -- in which we see what House isn't saying as his own mind comes undone.

Down -- in which I took a brief and (to me) terrifying look at why Kutner might have done what he did.

Already Out of the Bag -- short fic examining one lie Wilson can't make House believe.

A Lame Little Pony -- sequel to The Beggar's Horse by nightdog_barks . You can't always get what you want, but ...

Addendum -- set immediately after The Social Contract. Wilson considers the terms of his agreement with House.

2008:

Merlot -- Wilson must've learned to throw things from someone, sometime. In this story it isn't who you might expect. Set after Birthmarks.

Double Blind -- the method behind the pranking madness between Wilson and House.

On a Silver Platter -- Cuddy makes an executive decision. Missing scene from Birthmarks.

No Accounting -- an AU, written prior to Birthmarks. In which Wilson slowly does the math on his life, with House and without.

Not Tonight, Dear -- in which you can't always get what you want, but Cuddy just wishes she knew what she wanted in the first place.

Down to the Water -- my post-season-4 Road Trip Story. House and Wilson put in a lot of miles, say very little, and figure out where they're going from here.

Bound for Home -- a brief continuation of Down to the Water.

A Simple Misdiagnosis -- in which I borrowed the first line and the premise of Crossroads by nightdog_barks . This time, it's Foreman at the crossroads, and what he learns is something of a shock.

2007:

Things House Didn't See ... and Things He Saw -- coauthored by myself and kidsnurse , this is another look at That Scene from 97 Seconds.

Just Say No -- tiny ficlet in which Stacy lies to Cameron and doesn't regret it.

High -- a personal favorite of mine, a view into House's real reasons for lacing Wilson's coffee with speeeeeeeeed.

In the Navy -- Wilson was only nine when the Village People were popular. Why should he have to explain it to someone as good with numbers as House?

Beware of The -- heh. Beware of the nightdog_barks , actually. I wrote this dark, dark little story in her honor.

A Foreign Currency -- in which House learns what Wilson was willing to sacrifice, and discovers that his previous measures of their friendship no longer apply.

Quarters -- canon jossed this happy little tale of Wilson getting out of the hotel at last. I still like it, though.

Ribbit -- by far the fluffiest thing I've ever penned. House and Wilson through the eyes of an unbiased observer.

A Narrow Margin of Safety -- Chase asks an ill-considered question and gets an answer he doesn't expect.

Missing Information -- a history of things House realizes he's been missing about Wilson, and a little information Wilson's been missing about House. Set after One Day, One Room.

The White Flag and The White Flag, Part Two. -- in which I imagined what might have happened had House actually gone to rehab, for real. I feel, now, like I tried to cram way too much into this story, and went over the top in one or two places, but here it is for historical purposes.

A Calculated Risk -- still my favorite of the few things I've written involving Chase. Here, we see how and why he picks his battles with House.

2006:

Art History -- Chase, a girlfriend, and a poster print on the apartment wall. Another one I'm keeping for historical interest mainly.

The Horrible Reign of Wilson the Second -- my very first House-thing, and while I'd change a few lines perhaps, I still see the same things in Wilson's character.
