Dreams

So this place is pretty much my dream repository right now. I'll probably put all these in a text file somewhere at some point, but until I do...

I've had three dreams in the past week about being in a video game. Different games each time, with very different reactions to each dream.

In the first, it was a zombie game. I was actually walking around with my dog looking for the zombies and wondering where they were. There was a sudden spray of blood across the room and a door opened to reveal some sort of undead human/pig hybrid. I woke up shortly after that because I hate zombie dreams. They're always desperate and unpleasant.

The second was the only one based on a game I'm actually playing right now: Deus Ex. I was about to trigger a boss fight by walking into a small workshop or maintenance area. I was tense and nervous because I knew it was supposed to be a really difficult fight, but I was very heavily armed and had a few tricks up my sleeve (including a device that could slow down time). Anyway, the fight wouldn't trigger immediately, so I wandered off to look for a turret I could drag into the room with me (this is a thing you can do in Deus Ex). I couldn't find one, so I wandered back to try to start the fight again, but it still wouldn't trigger. That dream was mostly tame and boring.

Last night it was some kind of super game, like Prototype or Infamous. All the powers I had seemed to be weather-based, and I remembered thinking that the game was designed with beautiful graphical effects very much in mind. With one power, I could throw lightning around. With another, darken the sky with heavy blue clouds and cause it to rain. With still another, summon what looked like another sun in the sky, white and bright enough to shine through the clouds, but which illuminated the ground like a spotlight and made the raindrops sparkle in the gloom. And that dream? Was really beautiful. I want more like that one
