The Yao Chronicles 1.6 - In Which There Are No Parents At This Party.
The Yao Chronicles: a sort of pixel_trade legacy, I'm using other people's sims, but not necessarily following all the rules, mostly because I'd forget them if I tried.
Last Time: The kids were adorable together, Sam got a lot of promotions, Dag became a female influence to Aveline (which could be bad) and Crazy grew up before promptly passing out.

We begin with Dag and her very unrealistic wants panel. Sorry dear, but it isn't happening. Your eldest two are
almost teenagers.
Mysterieuse may look a lot like her dad, but at heart she's her mother's daughter through and through.
However, we have no time for babies and pets, oh no. It's new house time! I didn't like the one they were in almost as soon as they'd got settled. Something about it bothered me, so in between playing I built them a new house. and it's time to move! There's no tour this time, but you can take a look over at my simblr.
Mysterieuse's first task is to play with her brother properly, now that he's old enough.
Meanwhile, Sam and Dag are having a staring contest.

Crazy: That lady is very green.

Sam's all dressed up for his first day at work, but I can't help thinking he should probably take his lip ring out.
First pixel_trade walkby! For some reason this house attracts a lot more of them than the other one did. This gentleman here is Icarus (silenzii)
This feels like a hall of mirrors - I'm playing the Sims watching Dag playing the Sims.
So, it turns out Dag only has 2 cooking points. I thought she had more, but the way she was using that knife made me worry she was going to take off a finger or something.
I think we should be thankful that she only burnt it and didn't set fire to the whole place.
Dag: ...that is why I think capture the flag style gameplay should be banned.
Just a quick close up on her face. She looks so... intellectual.
Even though his fun is only just hovering above the red, Astronaut seems thrilled to have homework.
Ditto for his twin sister. However, straight after she got off the bus, it drove off, leaving me to wonder where Crazy was.
Turns out he was in character as Glitchy McGlitcherson, and had appeared round the back of the house, like some sort of creepy fairy child.
Since I forgot to assign the kids their desks, Astronaut and Mysterieuse have a twin homework party in the study.
Since he has no homework, and I realised that the boys had the same hair, here's Crazy, post makeover.

Post makeover Astronaut. This just reinforces how much he looks like his mother. I haven't checked, but I think he's only got Sam's hair/eye colouring.

Since they no longer have any room for a chessboard, I bought them a telescope. It quickly becomes Mysterieuse's favourite thing ever.
I'm almost bummed out that it's Crazy playing with this, and not his brother. OH THE PUNS I COULD HAVE MADE.
Looks like Sam's lipring wasn't a problem with his higher ups after all. If only all jobs were that understanding.
It's Van again! And behind her is kathsy's Peony, for more walkby goodness.
As is probably now tradition for this family, Sam celebrates his promotion with a pizza.
Astronaut: Thanks for making pizza, and not eggs dad. Because I really hate eggs.

Once everyone else is in bed, Sam takes some time to watch a horror movie. Alone. At night. In the dark.
I did this once with the Hotel level on VtM: Bloodlines and it scared the everloving hell out of me, and I didn't sleep right for about three days, so its off to bed with you Mr. Yao... after one last thing.
Being at least half knowledge and/or fortune sims, both Sam and Dag want to get their kids into private school.
The kids themselves? Are more interested in a pre-school gaming session.
Even Astronaut is in on the whole thing.
Cindy: Hiiiii favourite family!

...whilst Alfie (kathsy yet again...) decides to eye up the postman.
Dag: Off to work I go, time to rob someone mime at some people.
Dag can even rock that godawful basegame hair.
Myer (simsarecool): Ahh, I do love a brisk midday walk.
*side eyes Cindy* Was that you by any chance?
I hate the look of tape so...
...well frick. At least we're still in the money from Astronaut's little windfall.
Crazy: Aw yeah, I love school. School is so awesome. I love it yeah.
Crazy: A C+... whaaat?

2. Your siblings took two days to get their A+ grades, so don't worry.
Mysterieuse: Ugh, school is so boring what is my life.
Astronaut: Hiiii Miss Plume! (needlecream) I'm just coming home from school :D
And he's bringing home Avaline as well. She's still not eligible to join the main family though.
Crazy: I can't wait to get my A+ like you and Myst. That will be so cool!
Astronaut: I'm an inspiration! +
Cindy: Lalala just walking past my favourite family's new house...
Mysterieuse: If she doesn't stop I'm going to shove her into a cactus.
Sam: Homework is the foundation stone on which the rest of your education will be built.
Sam: Mumblegrumblebloodystraysmumblegrumble.
It should be noted here that Sam is not doing this for fun. Oh no, there is a reason - and a very good one at that - for him spending his time filling in holes.
The Headmaster is coming! A quick reminder: Sam's primary aspiration is Knowledge, Dag's is Fortune, and they've both had this want in their panels for a while, but I hate doing it more than once if I don't have to, hence my waiting until all three kids were at least children.
Dag is at work, sadly, so it's all resting on Sam's shoulders. I'm hoping that having Avaline there will be a bonus, since she and her brother both attend the private school already.
Spoiler: This headmaster is a bit of a dick. He listens to Sam trying to schmooze him, laugh, and then walk away with a big red minus sign above his head. I don't know what his problem is. Maybe it's Sam's long hair, lipring, and the fact that he's at home, whilst Dag is at work?
Noah (lil_pixiedevil): Man, that guy's a dick.

The tour goes okay, but we're not even halfway to our goal, so it's time to bring on the pork chops! Dag is still at work, so once again, we've got Avaline filling in. It would be a lovely picture, if not for one thing...

Mysterieuse rolled Pleasure/Knowledge and likes Werewolves who can clean., but isn't into green fingers.
She's also not here for her brother's transition to a teen.
Astronaut ends up as a Popularity/Knowledge sim, who likes athletic redheads, but only if they can see.
First proper look at teen Mysterieuse.
I don't like this look at all, and it's mostly due to her skintone, which I have since deleted from the game. So next time you see her, she'll be default S1 like both her parents.
