[Private to France:] How about that coffee? Any time that works for you. (ooc: we could totally skip right to that and tag as if saturday coffee stuff, if you want?)
[And action, after that:] [Basically Cooper is all over the streets of Goldenrod today. He needs a new coat (there’s a nasty-looking tear in the sleeve of the one he’s wearing

Run-in with the pokémon? (he guesses.)

Not really.
[He doesn't really linger on that though, because hey, Arthur, and he thought you were way back in Cherrygrove?]
I wouldn't have expected to see you here. You took the shortcut?

A hard battle?
Reply
[Because it is. While there's no denying the usefulness of the gear communication, Cooper much prefers speaking face to face.]
[And at the question, he indicates a shake of the head, but doesn't really finish the movement, and answers with a rather blank face.]
A fight.

(Arthur raises his eyebrows slightly.)
You aren't interested in regaling people with the tale, I take it? (Which is something he'd understand, really. Especially if it was a fight that resulted in a loss.)
Reply
["Tale" - he looks almost amused at the use of the word.]
Frankly, there's not a lot to tell.
[If you want "tales" there are more interesting (and grim) things he could talk about, but he makes a habit of not doing it. Happier topics should be the priorities unless the otherwise is necessary, don't you think?]

Sounds promising. (He offers a grimly sympathetic smirk.) I'm sure the complete lack of weapons was a help, too.

[Cooper mirrors that smirk with an equally grim sort-of smile. And never having been much for sarcasm or deadpan, the reply is dropped as if honest, but it's clear he's, well, playing along.]
But I guess there's something to be said for every experience.
[And cutting to a new topic:] You've been here long?
Reply
Several days; Most of which were spent either exploring the city or ensuring that one of my companions didn't land us with bills we're unable to pay. (Looking at you, Gwaine.)
Reply
[That said, the topic not on himself, he emotes more freely and smiles in a sort of teasing way in response.]
Who are you travelling with?
Reply
Merlin and Gwaine, if you know either of them. (And it's probably lucky that they both have unusual first names, because that's all there is.)
We're all from the same world, so the arrangement made sense.
Reply
[He recalls Gwaine especially, and looks ahead as he keeps walking, glancing at Arthur occasionally.]
I am curious why several are brought here from the same world in some cases [he's mostly thinking of the ponies here] while others are the only ones from theirs.

Even of there is, it doesn't make a difference if there's no solid proof either way. (He stops, and looks at Dale's torn clothing.) Are you going to be stopping at the department store?
Reply
[Cooper agrees with that, even if he can't help but speculate. He follows Arthur's look, eyeing the tear in the sleeve critically.]
That was the plan.
[And where he's headed.]
