An international panel of judges consisting of industry experts, hobbyists and past winners spent nearly two days non-stop deliberating on the 8th Annual Shine Award competition at the 2008 SEMA Show.
After considering hundreds of worthy rides on the basis of concept, execution, fit, finish and vision, the 2008 Mothers Shine Award has been presented to a beautiful 1969 Chevrolet Camaro dubbed “RaZoR” and built by the Ringbrothers for owner Erv Woller. The Camaro's powerplant is #193 of the limited production 454 cubic-inch Ram Jet ZL1 crate motors, producing in excess of 500 horsepower, and is mated to a T-56 Tremec Viper transmission. Rear is an Eaton Truetrac with Strange axles and Baer brakes featuring 6-piston calipers. Wheels are custom by Budnik riding on Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Special features include Intensive cold air intake, flush-mounted stock glass, functional rear intakes, Audi TT seats, 1-off gauges by Classic Instruments and headlights by Harley-Davidson. Build time was 2,600 hours over one year and features mineral gray and custom-mixed BASF R-M paints with 5300 clear.
