The Old Man got a new trans pan gasket last night. That's all we got around to because it was FREAKIN HOT and we spent some time talking to Gary, who has parts from an old Mustang that Aaron can use to fix up his baby - an '85 RX7 that he put a Ford 305 in last year - and has been sitting ever since. We're finding AOD trannys on Craigslist for, like, $50, it's amazing. He just doesn't know what carb he wants (I sense a trend).
This is with my camera phone.
We got it up in the air and realized that we were REALLY GLAD we hadn't taken it off-roading yet because, with it fully extended, the brake line cables were strung so tight you could have played them like a violin.
Oh. The fun part. We power washed the undercarriage last night and checked for leaks when we got home. The oil pan was behaving (for now, and we haven't even done that yet) but the trans pan gasket was still leaking... from the shift linkage where they updated it from the stick to the automatic. *facepalm*
It's easier to work on in the driveway, if you don't mind kitty litter in your ear.
Brake Master Cylinder? TONIGHT, YOU.
