Bana 'inspired' by Youth Off The Streets

Teenagers who've overcome a troubled life thanks to Father Chris Riley, the founder and CEO of Youth Off The Streets, got to meet a Hollywood star last night.

But Aussie actor Eric Bana says HE's the one who's been inspired.

It is the second year he has attended the organisation's annual dinner, which he says tops any Hollywood awards night or movie premier.

'One of the best nights I had last year was coming here and listening to some of these stories,' he says.

'I think in society we get inspired by things like sport, but a night like tonight.. you just can't touch it.'

Over one hundred Australians have been helped by the program, which has been running for six years.

Youth Off The Streets is a charity organisation that provides essential services such as crisis accommodation for homeless youth, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and education to ensure disadvantaged and disengaged young people are given the opportunity to turn their life around.
