DEVOUT motor-head and Hollywood star Eric Bana may be one of the faces in the crowd at the
Repco Rally to be held in the Kyogle and Tweed shires in September.
The Australian-born actor, who shot to international celebrity through his roles in Black Hawk Down and Troy , has been invited to attend the rally.
Mr Bana, well-known for his love of car rallies, recently directed a documentary film, Love the Beast, about his 25-year relationship with a Ford Falcon GT Coupe. The film will feature in the Kyogle motor sports film festival, which will be held as part of the town's rally fringe festival.
Festival organiser Suzie Colston said talks had been held with Mr Bana's management about attending the rally, but they were not yet able to confirm he would be coming. “It would be great for the festival if he came,” she said.
Ms Colston said the festival would provide local charities and businesses with the opportunity to capitalise on the rally when an expected crowd of 10,000 inundated the region.
The figures were based on Western Australia's experience, where the rally was held for 20 years, Ms Colston said.
Eric Bana's management was unavailable for comment.
