Yongii hyung, this is for you and you only! ^^
You seriously didn’t know what to think when you received a phone call from Mandy, telling you that you shouldn’t make any plans for Valentine’s. It was actually the first thing she said when you answered your phone and since it was the first time she had called in forever, you thought that maybe she had called the wrong number.
”Huh?” you said.
”Like I said, I don’t want you to go around making plans for Valentine’s day. Sandra and I have fixed it.” You could practically hear the smirk in her voice.
”Fixed what?” You thought you could hear Sandra’s voice in the background. Was she squealing. Oh well, nothing new.
”We hooked you up with a guy. It’s a blind date.” Another squeal.
”Wait, seriously?” you asked. ”Why? Who?”
”It’s because we love you. And I can’t tell you who, that’ll ruin the surprise. But I’ll tell you this, you’re gonna love us forever and always after this. So just make sure you look nice and pretty, and I promise you that you’ll have the time of your life.”
”Well, okay. I guess.” You thought it really couldn’t be that bad, since the two who had set you up seemed so excited (though you weren’t so sure if the squealing was due to this situation or if Sandra was fangirling something). ”What time?”
”Ah, I don’t know. We haven’t got down to the details yet, I’ll call you when we know, okay? Or Sandra will, I’m running low on money on my phone.” You heard Sandra say something in the background, and this time it was real words. Did she mention Japan? ”Shush”, Mandy said. ”Anyhow, we’ll contact you. Make sure you have nice clothes to wear, okay?”
”Okay, bye?”
”Bye!” Click.
At 20.15 you found yourself standing by the entrance to a fancy-looking restaurant with Sandra and Mandy chatting happily with each other about something. They had been to Korea for work and studies and were back for some vacation in Sweden in the ass-biting cold, as Mandy expressed it. You were looking up and down the street, trying to distinguish the person that would be your date for the evening. The other two tried to stay calm and neutral, but you could see the hidden excitement underneath the façade; they were just as nervous as you were.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a sole figure making its way over to you and you could almost tell that it was him. He was tall, really tall, and through the trench coat, you could see that he was well built. He was Asian, you could see that from a long distance, with styled hair and a bright smile-- hey, you recognized that smile!
”Ah, oppa! You’re early~” Mandy was grinning as she greeting the man. Sandra was practically jumping where she was standing. You? You were gawking. With your mouth open.
It was him walking towards you. Your dream man.
Jung Yunho.
Freaking Jung Yunho of freaking Dong Bang Shin Ki. The one and only leader himself. The man you’ve been screaming your throat sore for. In Sweden. Right in front of you. Supposedly the one who’s your blind date.
”Ah, annyeong”, he greeted the other two with a brilliant smile and shot off a string of fast spoken Korean to them. Mandy stopped him and told him something back, stammering slightly. He chuckled and started speaking again, slower this time. You could distinguish the words manager and members, though your brain didn’t want to process the meaning of the words just yet. You were still staring. Mandy nudged you.
”You know, it’s rude to stare.”
”Holy fuck”, was the only thing you could let out.
”I know, right. I’m still at that stage, and it’s like the 5th time I meet him”, Mandy said. Sandra agreed. Yunho looked from one to the other and then to you.
You could swear your heart stopped beating.
”Hello, I’m Jung Yunho. Nice to meet you.” His accent was cute - and yet hot somehow, though everything about him was that way to you - and he stretched his arm out.
You finally picked up the pieces of your imploded brain and gathered enough strength to lift your hand up, shaking his. Your hand was shaking slightly, but his grip was firm, comforting. Like his smile.
”N-nice to meet you”, you said.
Sandra led Yunho in as Mandy turned to you. ”Make sure you act normal, okay? Don’t go all fangirly, because then you won’t be able to enjoy this. It took a lot of work to open up his schedule for this, so I’m sure he’s going his best to enjoy this as much as he can.” She smiled at you. ”I know you’re really happy, and both Sandra and I are so excited; we never thought it’d happen for real.” Her smile turned into a smirk as she whispered conspiratorially. ”Don’t tell Dze unnie, but we’re working on Jaejoong to invite him for White Day.” With that she dragged you into the restaurant where Sandra and Yunho were waiting.
The two girls left, waving and grinning like maniacs, with encouraging words echoing in your ears and you and your date were lead to the table. You tried not to stare at Yunho, which was harder than you thought, but you somehow managed. He looked at you, with a reassuring smile, and you felt your insides melt. Deep inside, you heard a voice screaming ”SEXY” and you fought hard with yourself not to say it out loud. That would’ve been embarrassing.
You looked around, and saw several couples in the restaurant; some holding hands, others talking and laughing. One couple was sharing sweet and intimate kisses over their table, and you wished you could do the same with the gorgeous god in front of you, without him thinking you were a weirdo. Because you still wanted to leave a good impression on him.
The waiter came up to you with the menu and stayed next to the table, waiting for your orders. After quickly just picking something that seemed good, you handed the menu back and waited for Yunho to order. He was frowning, clearly not understanding a word that was written and was focusing on the pictures. You realized it was a good thing you didn’t live in a manga, or blood would be spurting from your nose in wide cascades. As it was, you just drooled a little in your mind.
Having finally decided, Yunho pointed at the picture he wanted, and the waiter left. As the man looked up at you, you smiled slightly, still not able to look into his eyes. After all, this was the man you had been dreaming about for God knows how long, never imagining you’d actually meet him. It was slightly hard to comprehend.
”You look, uhm.. ” he was searching for words, ”nervous.”
Your brain almost imploded again. ”Ah, mianhe”, you said and he chuckled lightly. You were really falling in love with that sound. ”It’s just.. ” I like you. ”You’re hot.” You cursed your brain for not functioning properly.
He just laughed, clearly slightly embarrassed. ”Thank you. You are pretty too.”
Ah, you thought, now I can die happily.
The rest of the dinner went smoothly. You actually managed to get over the shock and thoroughly enjoying yourself. The level of his English actually surprised you, even though you knew that he was smart. Maybe it was all thanks to Yoochun? Either way, the two of you managed to communicate and have an interesting conversation, and by the time the desserts came along, you were already joking and laughing. You tried to avoid talking about his job and instead focused on what you really wanted to know; his thoughts and opinions about things and his view on life. You wanted to get to know the real Jung Yunho, not DBSK’s U-know and you actually thought you had managed that to a degree.
By the time it was nearing 11 pm, thus closing time for the restaurant, you felt as though time had really flown by and you really didn’t want to leave. You knew this could be your only chance and so, as you went to get our coats after paying the bill - his treat, he had insisted - you managed to convince him that a walk would be a terrific idea. Even though it was probably below zero degrees Celsius. He agreed to walk you home, an idea you loved because you lived at least forty five minutes away, if you walked slowly.
Though, you were starting to question your sanity when you had been outside for only ten minutes, ice cold to the core and shivering like a leaf in the wind. You tried to speak, but the words came out in hacks because your jaw was protesting and your teeth chattering. He glanced worriedly at you and you told him that you were okay, though he didn’t look convinced. You looked away from him, trying to force your jaw to stay still when you felt warmth wrap around your shoulders and down your side. Looking back at him, he was much closer than before, having put his arm around you. Possibly to give you some warmth, you didn’t really know since your brain stopped working again. On instinct, you snuggled closer and for the rest of the walk the both of you were quiet.
You reached your place way too quickly in your opinion and you cursed time for not stopping. He let go of you and turned to say good bye. ”I had fun”, he said.
”Yeah.. me too”, you told him, slight panic clear in your voice. You really, really didn’t want him to leave just yet.
He must have seen something in your face because he smiled that aggravatingly charming and wonderful smile of his and leaned down to hug you. It took a couple of seconds, but when your body finally listened to your brain you were practically clinging to him. You never thought a hug could make you fall in love for real, but there you had it, you proved yourself wrong.
As he walked away from your home - walking backwards and waving - your mind finally registered what had happened.
The day after you received a text message from Sandra, with an e-mail and a phone number. The second text message was written in caps lock.
’OKAY, WE WANT TO HEAR EVERYTHING AS SOON AS YOU SEE THIS. YUNHO TOLD US HE WANTED TO KEEP CONTACT. HE’LL BE STAYING HERE FOR A WEEK MORE AND IF YOU DON’T ARRANGE A SECOND DATE WE WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND RIP YOU TO PIECES, OKAY? LOVE YOU.’
You really didn’t register anything after reading that Yunho wanted to keep contact. Probably because you were screaming and jumping around in joy.
’HAPPY VALENTINE’S.♥ ’
