A/N: Just a quick HanChul drabble, because I was bored yesterday. The first line was haunting me for like an hour before I decided to write it down, the rest just flowed out. So, I'm sorry if it's a bit incoherent.

It was always Heechul who looked after Hankyung.

Everyone always thought the other way around, that Hankyung was the more caring one, the more attentive one, the more loyal one. But it wasn’t true, never was. Heechul’s eyes always followed the Chinese, no matter what. It was always Heechul who watched Hankyung’s back as the other hugged the other members, as he looked out in the crowd of the shrieking fans, as he followed a dream he had always had. Heechul had once had the same dream, the want to be something bigger than he thought he could ever be. But the moment he fell in love with Hankyung was the moment his dream changed.

He chased a dream he could never have.

Hankyung’s eyes were always far away, never looking to the side. He dreamed of a life as a dancer, and singer if that was what was needed, a life with a beautiful wife and wonderful children, a life that was perfect. He had had that dream for years and years, and Heechul was never really included. Heechul would always be the friend, the best friend. He was added the moment Hankyung met him, but he was never to play a major part. He was just there.

Heechul had another definition of perfect. The kind that was never meant to be achieved, but rather fantasised about; as a nice dream that came at night. It was a dream he never shared with anyone; he buried it deep in his heart and put a lock around it, throwing away the key. Because he knew he could never have it. So he kept on watching Hankyung. Following his dream.

Pretending to be the one who was leading.
