Part 6--A Contrast Stark--Fanfiction

Apr 27, 2013 12:56

Disclaimer: Buffy the Vampire Slayer is owned by Joss and company, I'm merely playing in a very big muddy sandbox I'll never stop enjoying, even a decade later.

Pairing: Buffy/Faith, as if there was any other.

Rated: Tame, more character-dialogue driven.

Music: I did NOT write this to 'Stitches' by Orgy, HOWEVER, having listened to the song recently I thought it was appropriate so I added some mood music in between some lines....sue me.

PART 6- WINE

If it stayed i'd never leave it
If that turned around
I'd grieve the special dirty things that we used to talk about
I mean that loving you is strange

Both are in their street clothes now and well aware that copious amounts of alcohol will be needed to endure certain aspects of the next 48 hours. When it came down to picking their poison it was the age old dilemma: Red or White.

The cellar is frigid, better than a cold shower, and slunk inside the stone pockets of Buffy's old chambers, hidden behind a bookcase leading down to other rooms or out onto the extensive grounds. Roaming the chilled marble floors silence peaks Faith's curiosity; hopefully it wouldn't 'kill the cat'.

"What did you see in him?" It was a long shot, a round-about way of asking 'what didn't you see in me?' The Immortal having been a first in a long line of conquests after Sunnydale.

"You ask as we walk a secret passage way."  Buffy's retort.

"Ok, I get it, loaded, but for real...."

"Nothing Faith..that was the point and after finding out he was evil I felt vindicated for that."

"Well didn't you want....something..."

Buffy looks remorseful.

I wanted to know we could have fun.
I needed to know we'd be close.
I assumed you'd be around somehow

And adored by me throughout oh no it's you again
Someday soon you'll find that someone

The irony is that now Buffy had known what Faith felt when they'd first met. Distance between them helped answer the basic life-long question about duality and it seemed the closer they came the farther apart they'd eventually come; surpassing eachother to seek acceptance. Like a pyramid ascending and descending in different directions climaxing at a peak and weaving outward.

"What do you want?"

"Not about want anymore."

"Alright....need."

"What I got I guess, lord knows I didn't seek out Wes."

"You went soft for a Watcher." Buffy couldn't help, but giggle.

"About the time he went hard for me."

"Gah it's so.....weird."

"Says the chick that boinks the undead"

"Touche'"

"What about you, what do *you* want?"

The conclusion to that is usually opted out by what one doesn't want.....she certainly didn't want this.

"Would it matter if I told you?"

Faith stopped dead in her tracks and turned to face her, she may as well been leaping into her eyes; freefalling. It was time to be crystal clear.

"I need to know because I've wanted you from square one and it doesn't matter if it doesn't make a difference I've always been in love with you and tried as it might, and it fucking did, my ego never got in the way of that."

Waiting for the chance to beat you

Word by word the blonde's body shrinks into the wall, in turn, the ex rogue's weight is pushing her against it. Control is officially vollied for all the confidence Buffy had upon initially meeting it was flushed into the well of Faith's mahogany stare.

"You know I love you....for all that's worth....you know I do."

"Show me."

Drooling on the set to feel you

Buffy pulls her in by the back of her head, it's gentle, but no less effective as lustful as it is affectionate conveying what she's always meant to no matter how stilted she's come across. It's an apology set to the motion of her mouth.

Blessing you with every kiss

Their lips, having been no different from their bodies, needed no previous introductions before all of tonight's escapades having watched and admired from afar.....having been displaced in one another.....having fought against tirelessly...having been pressed against if even for short periods of time. It was all about the heat and the potential held behind it. The progression was no different than a seed planted years before and finally---through countless winters---breaking the surface to caress sunlight.

They fight the urge to disrobe coming up for air against all reason.

"Oh....we.....need.....to.....stop." Buffy breathes out between a sheepish smile. She's deftly unaware where the warmth is from the kiss itself or Faith's confession.

Tying yourself to me
Stitch up my emptiness cause your the death of me
So precious loving the thrill
Tying yourself to me
Stitch up my emptiness cause your the death of me
So precious loving the thrill

Motioning back to the pathways of otherwise empties rooms, though chalk full of meaningless possession, once having offered tangibility. These things.....all these things weighed her down, grounded her, but the longer she found herself in Faith's presence the more she knew what it was like to be anchored and what it really meant.

"Red or White?" Faith slipped inside the case grabbing two uncorked bottles, but with a corked eyebrow.

"White.....to start."

Such the patient one who needs me
The spoiled one who wins

They plop down on a pair of barrels sat side by side looking into the darkness no longer lonely for the moment.

"So, can I ask....." Faith started, between a guzzle of the white.

Slurping down the red, with a drawl Buffy finished.

"When you left--I knew, when you left or when I left....whatever which way it was"

So shocking where's your sense
Don't you know i hate you, ohoh
Unsatisfied,you little girl.

Lips now dangle from the mouths of both bottles slinking in sips where words should be, but the silence said enough.

So precious you know this hate of mine exploded
I'm so deranged you know
I will never be the same

a contrast stark, buffy/faith
