"Pacifiic Rim": another on a long list of movies that blames everything on dimensional rifts. Poor dimensional rifts, getting a bad rap for being the universal anus which poops out baddies that terrorize human beings. Why don't they shower us in flowers and chicken nuggets just once? :( Or connect us to Happy Fun Fairy Land, so that humans become the fugly kaiju in a dramatic twist of self-criticism?
Definitely a movie to to overlook the "science" and the one-note characters. Just watch the robots pounding on monsters, kthnxbai :D
By George, how I love movies filled with glorious CGI violence. This was "Battle at Helm's Deep" for me all over again. It makes my blood boil, sing, and slosh giddily through my ventricles before spurting up into my brain! It just makes me want to get in there, and punch some stuff! But then I go to work and get a papercut and reality settles in again. lol
Also: IMAX 3D has spoiled me for watching movies. When I watch the same movie spewed from any other inferior projector, it's like watching without my glasses. With a healthy dose of glaucoma. While swimming through that plankton crud that's floating around the Titanic. Maybe after getting an eyeful of phosphorus grenade explosion?
