The countdown of the Top Ten Bromances we've ever seen onscreen continues in honour of
reikoyazumi 's birthday!
This list is by no means definitive and is more than likely affected by blank spaces in my memory and/or my entirely predictable taste. For this I make no apologies.
So arriving in magnificent style at number seven are two brilliantly matched characters who have elevated what could've become a run-onf-the-mill crime caper into so much more- I give you Agent Peter Burke and Neal Caffrey of White Collar. Even before they ended up working together Neal and Peter had a grudging respect for one another, but once they combined their talents to fight crime this blossomed into a strong friendship and genuine caring. They've both risked everything for the other, and Neal has seamlessly slotted himself into Peter's family, meeting the approval of Elizabeth and, more importantly, Satchmo.
One moment in the finale summed everything up for me, and that was Neal's look of genuine hurt when Peter wouldn't trust him completely by giving him the benefit of the doubt [see bottom row, middle cap below] .
Memorable quotes...Neal: Take this.
Peter: No. No, we look together. We share the oxygen 'til Jones comes.
Neal: There's not enough time.
Peter: No, Neal!
Neal: We're wasting time! Peter. I trust you.
Peter: I don't know how, I don't know what game you're playing...
Neal: I haven't lied to you Peter. I'm not lying to you now; I didn't steal the art.
Peter: I think you did.
Neal: Then prove it... Prove it. [turns and walks away]
Number 6 should be arriving later on today and look forward to another double post at some stage to ensure that number 1 is revealed in time for the all important day on 30th March!
