This has been a long awaited action by the US Senate to deal with a very ugly part of US history for all Americans.
What I want to know is: Why a voice vote and not an electronically recorded vote? I would like to know how various US Senators voted. Especially US Sen. Robert C. Byrd (D-WV) since he is an ex-Klansman. To me, a voice vote allows closet racist (of both political parties) to remain in hiding when voting on a race-related issue.
