Tonight I had my first celebrity encounter. I was backing up another officer on a traffic stop off of Greenfield when a vehicle came up from behind us. I approached the driver who from a distance only said there was a bad accident at Greenfield and 696. As I got closer, I noticed it was Huel Perkins from channel 2. After he told me about the accident, I said, "Thanks Huel, well check it out." He gave a little chuckle and was on his way.
What do you expect with all the news channels being in the city?
Tip of the day: If someone wants to tell you something about them, they will. Don't try to get information from other people thinking they will give you the information you think they will. That's why I have limited my friends over the years to only the ones that I can trust. They warned us in college and in the academy that as a police officer, you will loose friends based on your job. I agree to a certain extent but I think that since I have to deal with stupid people on a regular basis, you tend to get rid of the friends who are just plain dumb.
