And the winner is...

...none of my nags!

The Grand National is over and my hopes of raking in the winnings are now dust. Imagine my surprise! *g*

13 of the 40 runners stayed the course and none of field appear to have been hurt. The result was:

1. Silver Birch (R Power) 33-1
2. McKelvey (TJ O'Brien) 12-1
3. Slim Pickings (B Geraghty) 33-1
4. Philson Run (D Jacob) 100-1

The highest placed horse I had was Liberthine, who was in the lead for a while, but tapered off and came in fifth - just outside the placings. Typical. Seems she just couldn't stand the pace. Still, she withstood the pace a darn sight better than the other ones I'd bet on! Apparently, Liberthine is in foal. Now I know diddly squat about horse-racing but sending a pregnant horse to run a race like the Grand National seems pretty strange to me.

Anyway, no riches for me. Never mind. There's always next year...
