Got that from an Episode of House and it really stuck to me. It's one of those lines you'd never want to hear from someone close, because it just hurts no matter what. After watching the episode I couldn't find a way to smile or be amused, but I just felt sorry for the poor soul who gets told those lines.
Though it happened to me as well, though not as painful. I just got an email from a friend stating that we shouldn't be talking for a while. I asked her why and she didn't respond. As much as I want to know the reason (and hopefully avoid any recurrence) I'd rather respect her wishes and not try. It's sad when that happens... but it just has to be accepted. It was a good run though :)
