I'm having a neuron implosion...

Yes, I am the last person to download Firefox. I eschew change! That's right, I eschew it. It's not that I'm particularly fond of Explorer; it's just comfortable and convenient, like ordering Diet Pepsi at a nice restaurant instead of selecting a proper wine.

And because I eschew change, I've only just got around to watching "The Christmas Invasion" today. This was the first post-Regeneration episode of Doctor Who, and it's been sitting around on my machine since shortly after the Eccleston series ended on Sci-Fi. I love David Tennant, and I was looking forward to seeing him as the Doctor... but, I mean, it's a whole 'nother Doctor, and it's a lot of work to acclimate yourself to a new Doctor! I guess I wasn't sure whether they could recreate the reallyreallyawesome-ness of the "first" series.

The characters' reactions to the Regeneration and the Doctor's uncertainty toward his new personality, the actions of Prime Minister Harriet Jones... every moment was just wonderful. An amazing episode that met my expectations, shut my unfounded wariness up, and immediately endeared Tennant's Doctor to me.

Elsewhere, Aisha Tyler is reviewing movies with Richard Roeper this week! I have leftover love for Aisha from her Talk Soup days. It's a good day for entertainment in my world.

I'll be going back to work this week. You know, I meant to do all this journalling and reading and stuff while I was off, but recovery turned out to be much harder than I'd expected. And rehabilitation is a pain -- there's just constant pain because I'm stretching my hand a lot, forcing it to flex and holding it in these uncomfortable positions. And I've been typing everything myself instead of using the Dragon program to type it for me. It's still difficult, and I've been working on this entry, with breaks to rest my fingers, since seven p.m. Time to just shut up and post it, I guess. Heh!

tv, hands, doctor who
