I'm so glad that today was your monthly LJ check-in, and I just so happened to post! I've missed you too! And I've actually been thinking about you lately, because (in accordance with my need for change) I was thinking about possible changes in career--and for about half a day, I thought about nursing. But then I realized that I would have to be entirely unflappable in the face of strangers' bodily fluids and also be responsible for their well-being, and I wasn't sure I was up to the task. So, the career change is on the back burner for now. But when I was thinking about it, I was gonna come kneel at your feet and ask for advice.
I've heard about the Portland unemployment situation--and it definitely gives me pause. Especially because there doesn't seem to be much in the way of editorial work there (also part of the reason I was thinking about a career change). But, man, it would be nice to live somewhere where it rains.
How's Seattle? That was also up for consideration, but I've always had a weird attraction to Oregon. If I move anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, we will definitely have to get together at some point.
I'm glad that you've got a good thing going on with Tumblr--I can definitely see how it could sate your fandom needs on a busy schedule.
I totally agree with your whole LJ gang check-in idea. I'm gonna try and make a point of posting here a little bit more, and commenting on people's posts. If I understood how to use Tumblr, I'd do that from time to time as well.
Also! I just bought 2 pairs of Danskos (which at one point you had endorsed), so I thought of you because of that too. One of the 2 pairs I bought is super comfortable--the other needs some breaking in, I think. I have faith.
