Uh huh...
****spolierage under the bleeding cut****
I watched it last night. The rebroadcast is tonight.
But I am really having serious issues with the black characters being these, I dunno, clichés. Then Tara gets drunk with the boss and suggests they have sex once. Which they do. Yeah they are ‘grown ups’ but there was just something so unnerving about the whole thing. The way that Tara willingly sells herself short, and says it’s because of her momma? Gimmie a break.
Then Lafayette, sigh. It wasn’t irritating how they had painted him in the first episode. Then second episode seducing ‘straight’ men at a party. Then this week, he’s a prostitute and drug dealer to make ends meet. I guess he has two day jobs as well? Stereotype down to the techno music, gold pants and leopard carpeting! (tearing at weave)
On the upswing I am liking the development of Suki and Bill’s relationship. I guess I never paid much attention to Vampire politics in books, or never had much of it in reading I have done. So the idea that Bill has to go to some higher authority to get some sort of clearance so he can protect Suki is interesting to me.
Get back to me.
