Barack: common knowledge or still obscure?
Am I wrong to be unsettled by the fact that my 39 yr old best friend, who is black and lives in this country and owns a television that she frequently turns on, had never ever heard of Barack Obama until I mentioned him last night? Not that I keep up with all things political but damn, y'know? Or am I just really informed and his existence is not common knowledge at this point? Seems to me that you can't go outside without hearing something about him...
