It's the start of a scary story: National Novel Writing Month!
In just four days the month of writing insanity begins. I'm still not sure what I'm writing--rebel pantsers FTW!--but it'll be a bunch of crazy things for certain!
Here's my million dollar,
six word advice for NaNoWriMo: Don't fear the madness, jump in! It may seem like it's too large a goal, too big a time comitment, just too much. And maybe you can't write 50,000 words in thirty days. Maybe you can't dedicate an hour or two a day to writing 1667 words. Maybe 30 days isn't enough to write "The End" (hint: it never is)
But if you don't try, you'll never get past that blank white page and a blinking cursor. Even if all you write is "Once upon a time" that's four more words than you had yesterday.
I promise: It's worth it. Join me?
My current plan is to post wordcount updates every day on Twitter (
@blackflamingo77) and do quick updates on Sundays, but really, this is NaNo, who knows what is going to happen?
