What Republicans want to cut

From the Heritage Foundation.

Man, if Republicans pursue all or even most of these cuts, Americans are going to be really pissed. Just reading that list, I can see some things that are going to stick out as political black eyes for any Politician stupid enough to embrace them. Among them:

--Eliminate the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant.

Which provides a lot of prenatal and infant care to women and families with children without access to such care. So-- how exactly does the GOP plan to sell the notion of 'fuck pregnant women and their soon-to-be-born babies!' Hell, I can see the Pro-Life targeted argument now-- cutting this program would encourage more economically disadvantaged women to get abortions.

Similarly,

--Title X Family Planning.

Yeah, let's curtail access to contraceptives! Totally a way to win over all those women voters, GOP, you go! Ladies like it when you make it harder for them to not get pregnant.

--Require Medicare home health co-payments

Be interesting to see if they actually are dumb enough to pursue this. Basically, for those on medicare who have some degree of at-home assistance, they want to require a co-pay in all cases. So if your grandma has a nurse that comes by once or twice a month to check on her, then they want there to be a co-payment for those visits. This would force a lot of seniors who live at home with some minimal degree of home-care to go to retirement homes or have to move in with family.
