Egypt, in brief
Cairo, big noisy crazy traffic. Step pyramid at Saqqara, cool. Pyramids at Dashour (including the red pyramid - my favorite), cool. Giza pyramids, at bit of a let down. Camels, cool but overpriced.
Luxor, cool (Quieter than Cairo). Luxor temple, cool. (now one of my favorites). Went to the west bank like 5 times and saw: Medinet Habu, cool (now my favorite temple) ramessium, cool. Tombs of the nobles, cool (some of them are better than the valley of the kings tombs). Valley of the kings, setting cool. Tombs ok, except for Thutmoses IV (spl?), which was extremely cool. (you should all go see it, now.) Walked from valley of kings to Hatshepsuts temple - walking along sheer cliffs and then looking down a really big cliff onto Hatshepsuts temple, totally rocking. View of nile valley from the top, totally rocking. Hearing swallows swooping past your head, totally rocking. Valley of queens, nice enough but nefertari was closed. Temple of Merneptah surprising cool seeing it does not look like much to begin with.
Karnak, very cool particularly the hypostyle hall. Still prefer Luxor temple and Habu. Perhaps should have seen it earlier, before templing out occurred.
Left storm, in luxor 'cause she was sick. Went to Aswan. Aswan cool. Temple of philae was cool, but had to rush it :( very nice temple. Think the Taxi driver stole my hat :( Unfinished obelisk at quarry, cool. Got a new hat. Not as cool as the last one.
On way back to Cairo saw the broken pyramid - looks cool (want to visit if theres time.)
Plan, stay in desert tomorrow if possible (also see an Oasis). Go to alexandria for a day or two. Cairo again then Rome :)
