so, i think i mentioned that my french teacher this term is from Cameroon, and perhaps a little crazy, but he's TOTALLY awesome. Every chapter in our french book focuses on both different idealogical topics as well as focusing on a different francophone region in the world. This chapitre we're focusing on values and morals, and we're studying a lot about Les Antilles! Which are tiny islands in the Caribbean that are more or less little slices of paradise. In an effort to show us a little about modern culture in Les Antilles, he showed us some examples of zouk, the popular music in the region. The following clip is from jocelyne labylle and cheela, and despite it's slight resemblance to a fanta commercial, it's SUPER fun and makes me want to embark on a Caribbean vacation post haste! ENJOY!
