[Yuber really hadn't quite known how much he took his height for granted until today when he ended up changing into Nu ( Read more... )

[And then somewhere in the village, he may notice his "Summoner" taking a short walk.

Or is it?]

[And "Nu" is looking at this person funny. The demon still has his abilities even changed like this and one of those abilities is always knowing where his summoner is so he can go bail him out if needed.

But yet, there's his summoner now, and he is detecting the man in another part of the village. Either something strange is going on with his abilities now, or someone was changed into Albert of all people.]

[Eventually "Albert" catches on that he is being watched.

Even though Raine has never met "Nu" directly, she's seen her during drafts and other times, and obviously she's been marked as a danger before.]

Is something the matter?

[And the fact that "Albert" has approached him just shows it is not really Albert. Even if it was his powers being all weird, the real Albert wouldn't approach Nu willingly.]

Who are you, really?

[Have an eyebrow raise at that.] How were you able to tell?

[So he was right, it's not Albert. That means at least his powers weren't being messed with again too. Last thing he needed was a run in with his actual summoner.

But anyway, has to come up with something to say besides the knowing Albert is elsewhere. Well, he knows Nu has met his summoner at least, and it was doubtful he'd willing associate with her.] I doubt he'd speak with me, so you must be someone else.

I see. You had been watching me, so I only thought to ask why. Does it matter to you who I really am?

[There's also something else curious about this person--they seem to be carrying a staff.]

[Though really, a staff gives very little of a hint. Yuber has fought enough people that he knows there are a few who use such a weapon.] It would depend on why you have turned into him.

[Though at the same time, whoever it was, attacking them was far too tempting. He may not be able to harm the real one, but he could harm a fake.]

It's because of the experiment. Isn't that enough?

But why him and not someone else?

It's just how the shift ended up. I didn't ask for this. [Should he attack her, she'll be prepared to defend herself if needed.]

[And attacking Raine is just far too tempting while she looks like Albert.] Or we could try a different way to get you to talk. [His two swords come out, and Raine probably can figure out just from that who this is, since it's very much not Nu's style of attack, and more Yuber's style of swords.]

So you're -- [Her eyes narrow when those swords come out, as she quickly moves into a defensive stance. That explains some of the questions.

It's a little strange to be the tall one in this instance.] You question my form change when you have one of your own?

All the more reason to find out what this is all about this time. [And that response already has narrowed it down to someone he's fought before. Of course, he's not got the advantage here with being in a form that is so damn short, but magic still works perfectly fine as he found out earlier. So he will quickly cast Soaring Bolt to send numerous bolts of lightning in Raine's direction.]

[Magic is probably going to be what gives her away eventually. Her first action, of course, is to reduce the amount of that spell that will actually hit her, closing her eyes and chanting up a brief forcefield to absorb most of those bolts.

And then it's her turn, using a combination of filial magic in an attempt to shift the snow and ground beneath his feet to distract and hopefully slow him down -- and attempting to turn that to ice as well.]

[And that quickly did answer the demon's question. There was only one person he'd fought before who used such techniques, and that was the woman Albert lived with.

He'll quickly teleport away from that spot before her magic can hit and then reappear behind Raine. His swords aimed as well as he can with the awkward balance of Nu's body and his own swords being too long for her arms, he will attempt to stab this fake of his summoner.]
