Look at both sides, not just one.

I just saw this news (follow up story here) on Yahoo! Featured and I'm too bothered to not write about it. It is not disagreeable that the Dallas basketball players deserve a standing ovation for their perseverance and determination until the end of the game although it was already a lopsided score by halftime, but don't the Covenant players deserve their win too? Just as the Dallas players did, they must have worked hard for it too, and it is extremely unfair to ask them to forfeit this game.

But I'm not one to talk about this issue as I'm not all that familiar with the rules of basketball, but from what I've read, if the girls aren't cheating or using any underhanded measures to get this 100-0 victory, I don't see why they have to feel remorse for their win. And I especially do not see why their coach has to be fired too.

Sure, the Dallas players might feel unconfident in future games after this incident, but isn't this part of their learning process? Joining competitions aren't for the sake of winning, but to learn what 'sportsmanship' is. That's why I don't see why so many people are making a fuss over Covenant's 100-0 victory. The Dallas players, no, everyone has to learn to deal with defeat, even if it comes with humiliation, so let the girls deal with it themselves if I may speak crudely. And while everybody seems to be focusing on the Dallas players' determined characters, aren't we forgetting that without hard work, the Covenant players will not have been able to score a single point no matter how lousy their opponents are?

Asking them to forfeit this game would be like stripping Micheal Phelps of his eight(?)nine(?) olympic gold medals because he won every single game he participated in. And on a side note, if the Covenant players were to be merciful during the game and stop it midway, wouldn't that be the same as Micheal Phelps refusing to join other swimming competitions because he already has a triple million medals? Moreover, if they had stopped the game midway, I'd say that the Dallas players would have been in a more pitiful situation as that means they aren't suffering a worst defeat thanks to the Covenant's sympathy. And that would be very sad.

However, I think the most admirable person in this whole situation is the Covenant's team coach, who did not succumb to pressure to protect the pride of his players, and did not allow them to feel 'embarrassed or ashamed' for their victory. (What sort of logic is that, by the way?) I deeply respect him, as most people would have turned into cowards when faced with the possibility of losing their jobs, but this coach still stood by his values, his beliefs and his players.

SO WHY IS HE BEING FIRED -_- !

Well, now that the rants got out, I shall tell you something I learned from Arashi today. Do you know that spiciness isn't felt by taste buds but by your pain sensors? So in other words, that means that spicy food-loving people are ... M? Gee, I never thought Tracy as the 'M' type. But she isn't really 'S' either. So..

"Tracy, what are you?"
