Keep up the good work :-).

Says she who'll suffer from sore muscles all week - I know how it hurts to start something like this...
But it does get better, promise :-D.

Thanks!
Yeah, been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, etc etc.
It's not the pain so much as it is the inertia I have to overcome. Sitting is so much easier. Heh.

After spending so much time with my nose glued to spreadsheets, I must say, I was awfully grateful for any excuse to move about a little ;-).
Sitting may be easy, but at work? Not for me it isn't..

But the "getting your ass up and out" is a hard one indeed. Maybe you can find - or found - a little walking group? That way you'll be too mean to each other for anyone risking a missed day :-p.

Not yet. We'll see. The biggest probem, of course, is that I'm only here for a month, then I have to figure out what I'm going to do in my next location. And, of course, it will be a whole new group of people.

And yeah, I can get up and around a bit, but it's not exercise so much as a chance to stretch out, which you need to do every hour or two to keep from getting clots in your blood. Nothing like a little thrombosis to ruin your day.

Heh... Right ;-).

I'm lucky there. But if you have varicose veins or something, that would mean a high risk...

The little breaks are what you make of them, of course Stretching is good.
Boss runs through our long corridors. M. goes outside on the roof and gazes into the sun.
Me, I climb stairs, walk fast - and have a smoke break now and then :-p.

Not so much due to varicose veins.
Deep Vein Thrombosis can strike anyone who sits for extended periods. Or for other reasons.

Climbing stairs and walking fast are good. Smoking is bad. ;) Gazing into the sun... not so great, probably.

I've read up on that, thanks!

My doctor used to say that when your lower legs/ankles/feet don't swell or in any way get bigger through the day, and you don't have any varicose veins, you're good. (That was part of why I was allowed to take the pill for such a long time.)

Science seems to have advanced a bit in the last years :-).

(Yeah, sure. Smoking KILLS. I'm still waiting patiently, more or less :-p.)
