I intend to take the word "a" very loosely for this meme. So, a few things I've been listening to lately (though I've resisted the urge to post things that are going to go on fanmixes - which is like uhhhh most of what I've been listening to, as usual - because they are surprises):
The Blackout - I Love Myself and I Wanna Live
A good mantra, no? I only recently discovered these guys. They sound sort of like newer AFI. Which I happen to like a hell of a lot better than old AFI, but I know it's not a sound that everyone digs.
Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love
Not very typical of what I usually listen to, but it has a really good beat.
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man
Reminds me of Howard Moon, and the fic "A Life Less Ordinary."
Onerepublic - All Fall Down
Basically, I'm a sucker for anything with violins.
Placebo - Running Up That Hill
I kept seeing this song on fanmixes so I finally gave it a listen. Now I am wishing I had a fanmix to apply it to as well, because I really like it.
Rusted Root - Send Me On My Way
Why yes, it is the song from the end of Matilda. It reminds me of hearts_andminds.
ETA: As long as I'm on the subject of music, you know what's really strange? I had a dream once that I was Brock Samson, and I was doing a mission with this guy who my subconscious sort of halfway ripped of off Gen. Treister, and his name was Harvey Danger. I typed that into a search engine one day just for the hell of it, and there is a band named Harvey Danger.
Uh okay and speaking of dreams, I had a dream a few nights ago that I was Major, and I started a war in New York City between all the heroes and villains that had ever existed. It was so epic.
