'Pilipinas Photos Batch 2'

Alright finishing up on the Dinagyang photos.

Onto the Boracay shots! Watch out the shots are heavier this time.

Alright little intro here. I was gonna go to Boracay with my aunt and bro but I decided to tag along with my old high school friends who now have their own studio producing wedding videos. I'm amazed on how far my friends have matured, even though they still feel the same personality-wise hahaha! They had a client that's gonna have a wedding in Boracay so it was the perfect time to see how they work. Their studio is called "Mayad Studios" and its ilonggo for "very good!" or somewhere along that phrase related to one's compliment to another about professionalism.

Days before the Boracay trip we ate at a fancy Japanese restaurant. The fish was good but I wished they placed some sauce on my unagi *I'm not on this pic haha*.

Stairs on the back of my friend's dad's shop, I like the colors :D

Creepy bathroom.

Mangoes!

On the way to Boracay we stopped by a Jollibee around the town of Kalibo, Aklan. I saw this power line with all these cluttered wires and I just went "The hell?" and took a photo of it. Its pretty common for power lines back home to have wires like that but this one had a little bit more than the norm.

Yey onward to Boracay! This is a pic of my uncle walking around Station 1 near 'The Grotto', a small island with an altar of the virgin Mary on it. The front part of Boracay is divided into 3 stations and Station 1 is mostly comprised of high-end hotels and restaurants.

Members of the Mayad team setting up for the couple's pre-nup shoot on the right.

Another shot.

Mayad 'Alvin' figuring out how to get a good shot on those blinds for the video.

Cute shot of the couple, Donald and Tisha. The Mayad team was chasing after the couple's golf cart while they were filming and I just jumped off the back of the tricycle and ran next to the cart and took this shot. The bride was a bit worried at me since I ran for a good 5 minutes just chasing after the golf cart hahaha!

More pics of the couple during the pre-nup shoot.

Behind the scenes shot.

After the 1st day of shooting we went out around the restaurants at night, we slept early since tomorrow was the big wedding day coverage.

Open air restaurant of Discovery Shores, very luxurious looking place

Crepes!

I was shocked to see this live crab crawling all over the seafood menu.

I was drawn to this lantern haha!

Ok onto the wedding shots half of the Mayad team stayed with the groom and the rest stayed with the bride *along with me* while they were preparing and have professional artists put make-up on.

Rings

The bride's room got a bit crowded so I went out and took some shots outside.

I went back in after all the ladies got their make-up on and took this shot of the groom's mom reading a magazine.

After all the preparations it was time for the big event. I actually have a lot of pictures of the wedding but I'll just post the better ones of the bunch.

This was one of the most amazing shots I took I actually went "Holy shit!" as the doors opened and revealed the bride in the center. I said to myself, "So this is how it feels like to see the love of your life enter as she walks towards you on your wedding day.".

More wedding photos :D

The kiss! This was the best one I have I wish I took more shots from different angles but alas the kiss only lasted for around 4-5 seconds and I didn't wanna block the official photographers from taking their shots *and their fancy SLRs with rapid/continous shooting modes ;e;*.

Low angle :9

Hope I didn't kill your interwebs yet hahaha ok this last set features reception shots and real vacation time after the wedding.

The Mayad Group

From L to R: Raphael, Sheena, Alvin, Jose and Cecilio

Another shot this time with a more controlled white balance / lighting.

After the reception the next day I went out with Jose and took photos of the sights of Station 2.

This one was hilarious I found a shop that makes custom slippers and those pair of penises were just grand! It even has a stain on one of the balls hahaha omg!

Better view of the shop.

Before you say "WTF is that?", that's a lantern.

Well that's the end of my Boracay trip. If you want to see the video my friends made you can view it on their blog *Its should be the latest one on the top*:

http://mayadstudios.com/blog/

The video quality does no justice compared to the original dvd copy but it goes to show you that these guys have talent! One of their goals actually is to film a wedding here in the US so guys if you're getting hitched and have some extra cash for business visas drop these guys an email or two.

I still have some shots of another wedding along with some miscellaneous photos but I'll plug them on another entry.

To end the day here's a shot of me with the Mayad group:

Hope you enjoyed the pics and the masochistic loading time on your net! Until next time :D
