One Rodney Mckay fanart behind the cut. As well as lots of flaily arms of frustration. *headdesk*
Pretty much my first time I've drawn Rodney, and my first ever SGA fanart--so I'm kind of nervous over it. *bites lip*
The hardest part of this was...getting Rodney to look like Rodney. Capturing the likeness of people is very much public enemy number one for me. I do feel like I succeeded in the end though, even if there a few little things off. :)
This was done entirely with acrylic, which I'm slowly feeling more comfortable with. The original sketch looked nothing at all like Rodney (which made me so frustrated!) so I just started slapping paint on it. It took a very long time and lots of effort for it to even start looking like Rodney. But the main surprising thing I learned in doing this was that I find it easier to get people to look like people with paint. I think it's got something to do with the ability of using paint to overwork a piece obsessively. *grins*
And heh, I didn't really concentrate too much on his expression. I'm not quite sure what his expression actually is--just that it reminds of his 'leadership' face. *laughs*
Also, for some reason my favourite part of this is that he's wearing a hoodie! I don't why, but I find it adorable.
Comments and the like would be much adored. :D
