'm not going to lie. I cried when I saw my apartment. Mold in the window sills. When the landlord was fixing a leak under the kitchen sink, a cat ran out of a hole in the wall. I have some scary neighbors, but one is getting evicted. My bedroom window--at ground level--didn't lock. There are no screens on the windows. But my landlord has been here every day fixing things and I spent a greater part of the weekend cleaning the entire apartment. I'm starting to feel better about things.

Syracuse is very collegiate. Ivy on buildings, everyone wearing orange, lost freshman gawking at buildings. Who knows, I might attend an actual sporting event. I'm super busy this week with move-in events and programming.

I'm settling into my ga-ship. Met with my supervisors. I'm consulting and advising many of the publications on campus. LOTS of student contact. I'll be working with student government, a few jewish orgs, and a theatre group. One of my major responsibilities will be working with the yearbook. They really tailored my duties to my interests. Each day I'm handed a new tee-shirt or polo for the next day's events. I won't need any Syracuse gear any time soon.

I've met a bunch of new friends through Jeff. I'm sure I'll meet more next week when classes start.

Today I tried to catch the bus, but I'm too stupid to read a bus schedule and ended up walking for an hour in the wrong shoes. My feet hurt. Turns out that the buses don't run on a full schedule until classes start on Monday. Shit.
