One more quick post, because I just found the solution to my "Windows Movie Maker hates DivX" problem thanks to talulababy . And because some people said in the comments they have the same problem, I thought I'd share the solution. I thought WMM kept crashing because of Windows Vista, but talulababy said she has Vista too and has the same version of WMM than I have, so it must have been something else.
Click on extras->options in your WMM, then it should have a tab called "compatibility", and there it says that some filters can cause compatibility problems. All I did was uncheck the DivX filters, and now I can import DivX movies (and the Supernatural episodes) without problems.
